These details are required, but we’re happy to help identify anything you’re unsure of.

Need new radiators?

We can measure the BTUs in your room to ensure the correct size radiators are being fitted

What is a BTU?

BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. It’s a way of measuring energy, specifically, heat. One BTU is the amount of energy needed to heat one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.

We need to know how many BTUs you room needs, to tell us what size radiator to instal, ensuring you're not left in the cold!

We can help you with the design & installation of your heating system

We'll measure your room space and then assist when choosing radiators.

Frequently asked questions

If you can't find the answer to your question here, please don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

This varies from house to house, generally in the UK, a gas boiler is preferred, with the most popular option being a gas combination boiler with radiators. Such methods like air source & ground source heat pumps are now being installed and continue to use the wet system with radiators. It depends on what power source is available to your house.

A heating system install cost can vary. For example a 3 bed property with a gas supply, which would require 7 radiators, a boiler and pipework would cost between £3000 and £4500. An Air source heat pump installation for the same size property would cost between £10,000 and £14,000.

The size of the heating system depends on factors like the square footage of your home and how well insulated it is. We can calculate the room size and heat loss to determine how many BTUs or KWs are required to heat up that particular room, and calculate that together to determine what size boiler is required. Usually a quick phone call can answer this question.

It's generally recommended to have your heating system serviced annually to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety. With a service, we can detect potential future problems and save money on your energy bill if the appliance is not performing correctly.

Annual servicing of the appliance, proper insulation, sealing air leaks around doors & windows, upgrading to a more efficient system, and using a programmable or a weather compensation thermostat are some ways to improve heating system efficiency.

Its advised to use a Gas Safe engineer to install a heating system. Generally installing pipework and radiators are simplistic with some general knowledge, but when it comes to boilers & gas pipes, there is a risk of gas leaks & carbon monoxide poisoning.

The most common fuel for heating is gas, followed by electricity. Electricity is in the region of 4 to 5x more expensive than gas, however air source heat pumps are up to 300% more efficient than a gas boiler, meaning a competitive cost range. Other systems use solid fuel such as wood or coal.

We have always been a big believer of pay cheap pay twice. You cannot cut corners on quality work when it comes to a heating system. The wrong system installation will forever cause you problems and cost you more in the long run to repair. We advise to pick a quality company with a quality reputation to match.

There is a free boiler scheme called the ECO 4 depending on your current boiler and health circumstances. The government are also offering rebates on heat pumps & 0% VAT on air conditioning with revere heating

The lifespan of a heating system varies depending on factors like the type of system, maintenance, and usage. On average gas boilers last 15-30 years, and heat pumps 10-15 years. Regular maintenance can extend the lifespan of your system.
